How to Use
Adults: Take 1 to 2 teaspoons at intervals of 2 to 3 hours. Children aged 6 years and over: take ½ to 1 teaspoon every 3 hours. It should not be given to children under 6 years of age, unless prescribed by a doctor.
Indications: Benylin Syrup is a non-prescription medication with fluidizing and antitussive action. It is indicated for the relief of nasal congestion symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis or respiratory infections and for the treatment of cough. Benylin is contraindicated in case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the constituents, in children under the age of 6 years (unless prescribed by the doctor), in case of concomitant treatment with dephenidramine hydrochloride, including medication for topical application. It should not be used to make children drowsy. It can cause pronounced drowsiness, so patients should be advised to drive cars and machines with caution. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride can increase the sedative effect of CNS depressants, including alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers. While taking this medicine, avoid drinking alcohol. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
