    Usage Advice
Indications: Fenivir is a non-prescription drug indicated for the treatment of cold sores. Cold sores are a viral infection in which the virus can remain inactive for long periods of time. When virus multiplication is triggered, skin lesions such as small vesicles occur. This occurs when the patient is weakened, constipated or with the flu or after prolonged exposure to the sun. When herpes is active, it causes painful blisters to appear on the lips. The active substance, penciclovir, is an antiviral drug that stops viral multiplication, promotes faster healing and reduces the duration of the infectious period. The use of fenivir does not prevent the virus from spreading to others. You should not use this medicine in case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the constituents. You should not apply the medication on the mucous membranes, in the eyes or close to them. If in doubt, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
